The woman whose body was found floating in the Hunter River last Sunday, has been identified as 61-year-old Elizabeth Small from Maitland.
Ms Small was reported missing by her husband five days earlier.
Police are investigating her death and want to speak with anyone who saw her last week.
Detectives believe her body had been in the river for several days.
