The Sawtell BMX Club has received asphalt on its berms thanks to Council community grants.
Workers were busy covering sections of track today, which will stop it from washing away during heavy rain and allow for smoother racing.
“It will be a lot quicker, a lot smoother, kids will feel more comfortable going around the berms, they won’t slide out it will help them compete with the Brisbane and Sydney tracks.” Tim Major, Sawtell BMX Club.
The club hopes the newly sealed sections of track will entice more big name BMX events to the region.
