The Community Environment Network says it’s disappointed by the outcome of an investigation into community concerns surrounding the safety of the Mangrove Mountain rubbish tip.
Earlier this year Gosford Council sought to stop all dumping on the site, but the contractor has been allowed to continue with the agreement for another 10 years.
The Network says Council, the Environment Protection Authority and the State Government have all benefited at the expense of the community.
“So they all get something, profit, out of this, but the local community who live all around it get nothing, and have been cut out of the process entirely.”
