Central North rugby union’s representative under 20’s side hit the field this weekend in preparation for next year’s Country Championships.
The Kookaburras will be forced to step up to the top tier after winning division two this year.
Coaches Garry Walsh and Barry Everingham have designed a gruelling schedule to test player fitness.
“They’ve actually got to play for their club side and then play another trial on Sunday. But that’s actually purposely done, because they’ve got to do that at Country week, be able to step up against quality opposition to play Saturday-Sunday.”
