Lake Macquarie sailor Chris Nicholson and his crew have finally arrived safely on Mauritius, after their Volvo Ocean Race yacht, Team Vestas Wind, ran aground on a reef last weekend.
The crew salvaged what it could from the severely damaged vessel, which remains on the reef.
Nicholson says he’s proud of his crew, and accepts ultimate responsibility for the grounding.
