Police are searching for two men who broke into a home in Toukley last night, and beat a 58 year-old man with an iron bar.
Just after 9pm the offenders forced their way into the Main Road address through the back door.
They then assaulted the man and ran form the scene, in what police believe was a targeted attack.
The victim suffered cuts to his head, and was taken to Wyong Hospital.
