In another case of “if you can’t beat them, join them” Byron Council has voted to consider a ‘free camping’ proposal.
Currently, there’s a zero-tolerance approached to people camping on the street in their vehicles.
Councillor Paul Spooner believes designated ‘camping zones’ would discourage people from parking illegally in residential streets.
Camping providers are being asked to provide Expressions of Interest for a 12 month trial.
