LONG WAIT OVER: WYEE TO BE CONNECTED TO SEWERAGE

After a 30-year wait, Wyee at Lake Macquarie will finally be connected to a sewerage system.

Today Minister for Natural Resources, Lands and Water, Kevin Humphries, announced the $26-million project, which will see 400 lots in Wyee linked to Hunter Water.

The system will however be large enough to cater for 1000 more lots in the future.

At present, homes and businesses operate with a septic pump-out system and locals say they’re keen for the upgrade.

The project is in its preliminary stages, with excavation work expected to start mid next year.
