POLICE CRACKDOWN ON DRINK & DRUG DRIVING

Meanwhile police say they’re disappointed with the amount of people caught drink driving during a major police operation on the Far North Coast.

Operation RAID was a combined National and New Zealand crackdown on drink and drug driving.

In the Richmond and Tweed/Byron Command almost 2,000 breath tests were conducted with 17 drivers found over the legal limit.

Another 216 other traffic charges were also handed out.

Police are reminding motorists they’ll be out in force during the Christmas Holiday period.
