CALGA DECISION DELAYED
A decision on the Calga Sand Quarry extension has been delayed in the Land and Environment Court, with proceedings to continue early next year.
An outcome was expected to be reached last week, however one of the complainants postponed due to sickness.
Commissioners visited the sand mine in September, to determine whether Rocla’s plans to extend the quarry would undermine Aboriginal cultural and heritage sites in the area.
Meanwhile, the land council has lodged another application with the court regarding their plans for an $8-million housing estate at Halekulani, which was knocked back by Wyong Council in August.
