AGL RELEASES NEW GREENHOUSE GAS POLICY

Energy giant AGL has committed to closing all of its existing coal-fired power stations by 2050, under its new Greenhouse Gas Policy.
That includes the Liddell and Bayswater power stations in the Upper Hunter, which the company bought for $1.5-billion in June last year.
The policy also states that AGL will not build, finance or acquire new conventional coal-fired power stations in Australia, while also continuing to invest in new renewable technologies.
