Pre-schoolers were learning some valuable lessons about water safety, at Port Macquarie today.
In the lead up to summer, a local swim centre has been educating children and their parents on the dangers associated with swimming pools.
With the help of council’s senior lifeguard, swimming instructors taught children what to do if they fall into a pool.
To make the exercise more realistic, the youngsters wore clothes and shoes while they practiced swimming to the edge of the pool.
As well as the pre-schoolers, five to 15 years olds have also attended water safety classes at the centre this week.
