Lismore Council has told Kyogle it wants to hear by Christmas, if the council is interested in amalgamation.
“We said if they were to consider merging we would appreciate hearing by the end of the year because every council in NSW has to fill out templates for Fit to the Future.”
Kyogle’s Mayor was quick to respond, saying the community wishes to stand alone – and council is doing everything in its power to prove it can become sustainable.
