TRAIL BIKE RIDER AIRLIFTED TO HOSPITAL

A 32 year old trail bike rider is recovering, after hitting a tree in the Girard State Forest, east of Tenterfield, yesterday afternoon.

Guided by an emergency beacon – Westpac Recsue Helicopter paramedics were winched into dense bushland to stabilise the man.

He suffered a fractured femur and was ferried by ambulance to Drake, then airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital.
