Police have confirmed that the body of a teenage girl has been found in a nature reserve, south of Newcastle.
Detectives say the body appears to have been in the reserve for a considerable amount of time, and visual identification is no longer possible.
An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow, and until the results are known police are treating the death as suspicious.
The body was found at 11am yesterday in the Awabakal Nature Reserve,
which is located near the home of missing Dudley teen, Taylor Almond.
The 16-year-old was last seen on the 12th of October, and police have made several public appeals for information about her whereabouts.
