TAMWORTH EDUCATION CENTRE OPENS TO THE PUBLIC

The University of Newcastle’s $19.5 million education centre in Tamworth was officially opened in May, but today the community had the opportunity to see what’s on offer.
The building is designed to provide clinical training for undergraduates studying health.
“We are really keen to have students, recruit rural students, but also to give them a very good experience in a rural setting because there’s emerging evidence that that is how you attract them, you know, a good likelihood of attracting them back for rural practice.”
Aboriginal artwork was also unveiled, reinforcing the indigenous connection to Kamilaroi country.
