MORE JOBS TO GO FROM MOUNT ARTHUR MINE
BHP Billiton has announced more jobs will be cut at its Mount Arthur coal mine at Muswellbrook.
150 positions will go by the end of February next year, which will take the total number of jobs lost to 405 since July.
The company says the changes are aimed at ensuring the long-term sustainability of the mine during difficult market conditions.
Just five weeks ago, BHP Billiton was granted approval from the state government to extend the life of the mine by four years, to 2026.
