Former Newcastle MP Jodi McKay is on track to resurrect her political career, after winning Labor pre-selection for the seat of Strathfield.
It comes after Opposition Leader John Roberston threw his support behind Ms McKay, writing to the party’s state secretary to request a pre-selection ballot.
Ms McKay lost the seat of Newcastle to Tim Owen in 2011.
The ICAC has since heard allegations Labor powerbrokers ran a smear campaign against her, prior to the election.
