There’s some good news for boaters in the Manning region, with Taree Council set to carry out $140,000 worth of dredging work early next year.
The state government has chipped in $70,000, which council will match with money raised through its new environmental levy.
The funds will go towards dredging around Oxley Island, the Farquhar Inlet and sections of the Harrington Backchannel.
The Farquhar Inlet Management Group will carry out the dredging.
