After being part of the community for more than four decades, an aged care facility at Mayfield is about to close its doors.
BaptistCare, which operates Kara Centre, says the Hanbury Street building can no longer meet the needs of its 65 residents…
And that a refurbishment, including the fitting of automatic fire sprinklers, is too expensive.
BaptistCare says it’s committed to helping residents and staff relocate.
At this stage there’s no date for the centre’s closure.
