Organisers hope the event will help break down stigmas surrounding mental health.
Suicide is an extreme action, but resorted to by some who have felt no reason to go n living in this world,
in some instances because his/her lifetime partner had pre-deceased him/her.
To name those persons as Psychiatric misfits (ill) is only adding extra grief to immediate relatives.
I was the Advocate of Reform in respect of Psychiatric treatments from 1975,
and, now at 86 years of age, maintain that our society needs to concentrate
on the prevention of such conditions through public education.;
so that, even for the elderly there is reason to live and to contribute to the better living of
all persons in our communities.
