A 47-year-old man has been charged with eight offences relating to the alleged historical sexual assault of a boy in Newcastle.
Police allege he sexually assaulted a boy under the age of 16 a number of times between 1985 and 1990, while they were both members of a church boy’s brigade at Adamstown.
The man was arrested at a home in Gateshead yesterday afternoon, before he was charged at Charlestown Police Station.
He’s been granted conditional bail and will face Belmont Local Court on November 5.
