LOVERIDGE CONQUERS KONA

A Gunnedah triathlete has finished in the top 100, in one of the world’s toughest ironman events in Hawaii.
In a field of more than 2000 competitors Peter Loveridge came 97th with a time of nine hours and 23 minutes.
Deemed the hardest event on the ironman calendar the world championship event consists of a 3.8-kilometre ocean swim, 180 kilometre bike ride and 42 kilometre run.
Sebastian Kienle from Germany won the event – while Australian Mirinda Carfrae defended the women’s title.
