DAYLIGHT ROBBERY AND BASHING IN DOWNTOWN LISMORE

Lismore police are on the hunt for witnesses, after a woman was allegedly robbed and punched in the face in South Lismore yesterday.

The woman was walking on Union street around four o’clock yesterday afternoon when she was approached by a man.

“Police were called to Union street in relation to a woman who had been assaulted there, it’s alleged that a male has attempted to snatch her handbag and has assaulted the woman and knocked her to the ground.”

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man to come forward.

He is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, approximately 18-25 years of age, thin build with dark curly hair.
