LOCAL SMASH REPAIRERS VOICE THEIR CONCERNS TO NSW FAIR TRADING MINISTER
Local smash repairers had the chance to voice their concerns about new industry legislation today, with the state’s Fair Trading Minister in town.
The changes to the Motor Dealers and Smash Repairs Act will reduce red tape for consumers and see the introduction of a name and shame register, that will come into effect at the start of December.
“There have been a number of changes in relation to the legislation the governs motor repairers and motor dealers and obviously there are concerns about the independence of some of the assessors in the industry and concerns about just how insurance companies interact with motor repairers.”
A new national indigenous consumer strategy action plan has also been launched to ensure indigenous communities have access to the right consumer information.
