MEN TRY TO WRESTLE SHARK IN SHALLOW WATERS ON MID COAST

A video has surfaced, appearing to show two men trying to wrestle a shark at Seal Rocks on the mid north coast.
They can be seen luring the shark in to shallow waters with a piece of fish, before one of them jumps on top of the animal.
It’s understood no one was injured during the incident on Thursday afternoon.
In a statement to NBN News, the Department of Primary Industries says it does not condone the public interacting with sharks.
“Not only is this extremely dangerous but many species of sharks are also listed as threatened and vulnerable.
“For this reason, there are strong penalties under the Fisheries Management Act 1994 for interfering with a threatened species with a maximum penalty of $110,000 and/or 2 years imprisonment.”
