Hunter beaches have been rated among the best in New South Wales, by the latest state government water quality report.
Nobbys, Newcastle and Bar beaches were some of the cleanest – each receiving a grade of ‘very good’.
Beaches in Port Stephens, as well as Dudley and Redhead also performed well.
But it wasn’t all good news, with some areas of Lake Macquarie, including Eleebana and Swansea, rated ‘poor’.
Almost 250 swimming locations were monitored, with data collected over the past two to four years.
