The sound of a steam train could be heard in Newcastle this weekend with hundreds of families taking the chance to travel on a piece of history.
Locomotive 3642 is famous for hauling elegant, express passenger trains throughout New South Wales almost 90 years ago.
It’s all part of an initiative by Transport Heritage New South Wales, aimed at giving regional communities the chance to experience a piece of history.
