NEW MUSEUM IN COFFS OFFICIALLY OPENED

Coffs Harbour’s Deputy Mayor arrived in style for the official opening of the city’s regional museum.
Councillor Rod Degens was driven in the city’s first taxi to the former police station in Harbour Drive.
The old building was bought and renovated at a cost of $1.5 million and now houses an historic collection of memorabilia.
The collection had been stored away for five years after floods damaged the original museum.
“Now that we’re officially opened we’re expecting more visitors, schools, tourists and locals,” said Museum Curator Dr Leigh Summers.
The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday.
