WEATHER UPDATE: SNOW ON THE WAY

A powerful winter storm is passing the SE set to produce gale force winds for the Hunter. A severe weather warning has been issued for damaging winds for the region. Strong winds warnings have been issued for the remainder of the broadcast area. 

Snow is expected to fall along the Northern ranges including the Barringtons to 1000m. A large dump is likely on the Australian Alps taking the snow depth to 2m by the weekend putting the season on par with the record breaking year of 1981.
In the coming days it will be very cold and a significant wind chill factor added to the mix.
