The Hunter Development Corporation has spoken out in support of the revitalisation of the CBD, following The Hunter Deserves Better rally on Saturday.
The group was part of a taskforce that was set up in 2009, when talk of the CBD renewal first started.
“As far as the tide in change it’s been coming in slowly, and what we’re seeing now with the government having made commitments, and provide funding is a real opportunity for us and we want to see it move forward the best we can.”
Mr Hawes says the proposal will provide the generational change Newcastle needs.
