The state’s Department of Planning has recommended a new ammonium nitrate manufacturing facility at Kooragang Island be approved, subject to conditions.
The Department says it’s fully considered all of the issues highlighted in the 375 public submissions it received, including potential noise and air quality impacts.
The proposal – put forward by Incitec Pivot Limited – will now go before the Planning Assessment Commission for final determination.
