JAPANESE STUDENTS HOME SAFE

A week ago they were heading home to quake-ravaged Japan, unsure whether loved ones were still alive.
We’re happy to report that 45 Japanese exchange students who had been hosted at two Hunter schools have all been reunited with their parents.
The Japanese consulate has confirmed the students are all safe and back with their families in the devastated Kesennuma area, although some are living in emergency shelters.
Their host communities are sending donations of food, clothing and money.
