LOCALS BID TO REOPEN TOWER CINEMAS

Newcastle’s beloved Tower Cinemas could soon reopen.

A local consortium is offering to breathe life back into the complex and its surrounds.

“Proprietors of some of the shops I know have said to me ‘since the cinema closed, there’s been a down turn in business’ and they’ve also said to me people come along and come into the shop and ask whats happened to the cinema.” – Steven Prichard, Iconic Cinemas Proprietary Limited Director.

If negotiations with the current owner prove successful, the cinemas could be back up and running by November.
