Last month alone Meals on Wheels served over 5400 meals to clients across the Tamworth region.
Today was all about recognising the hard work of volunteers for the 61st national Meals On Wheels Day.
Beginning in Tamworth in 1953, Meals on Wheels provides meals to over 340 clients – ensuring their independence and keeping them in their own homes for longer.
“Based on one third of our clients going into a nursing home and the cost, we save this community somewhere between $3 and $3.5 million every year.”
