NEW RURAL AID COUNSELLOR TO COVER 300KM RADIUS FROM ARMIDALE

A new Rural Aid counsellor has started up in the New England, North West area.

Heidi Gray will be based in Armidale, covering a 300-kilometre radius to help farmers in need.

Ms Gray is one of ten new counsellors for the rural charity, in a nearly $4 million dollar bid to address the gaps in regional mental health care.

Seeing the impacts of the drought in Inverell in 2018 kick-started a career change for the former travel agent.

She’ll be working one-on-one with farmers and community members to ensure they’re supported through tough times.
