BLUEBOTTLES SLOWLY WASHING AWAY

Newcastle’s latest coastal attraction is slowly washing out to sea.

Thousands of bluebottle jellyfish plagued the city’s beaches yesterday, providing quite the sight for locals.

Lifeguards say it’s unusual to see so many stingers wash ashore, but it’s most likely due to the large swell.

That same swell should wash the bluebottles back into the ocean over the next few days.

In the meantime, beachgoers will have to keep watching their step.
