A 19-year-old man from Weston has died following a car crash at Cessnock late yesterday.
Police say he was attempting to overtake another vehicle along Duffie Drive at around 4pm, when he lost control of his Holden Commodore and hit a tree.
His 17-year-old passenger was taken to John Hunter Hospital and treated for lacerations.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a report for the coroner.
