MAN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED UMINA CAR CHASE
Police have used capsicum spray to arrest a man who tried to hide under a house, after allegedly crashing his car during a high-speed chase through Umina overnight.
Police say the 18-year-old first caught the attention of patrolling officers on West Street just before midnight.
It’s alleged after failing to stop, the driver lost control of his car on Springwood Street, before crashing it into the front yard of a nearby home.
He’s been charged with a raft of offenses, including driving an unregistered vehicle and driving while unlicensed.
He’ll reappear in court in September.
