Police are converging on the Greenhills shopping centre at East Maitland following reports of an armed holdup.
A man, armed with what is believed to be a handgun, threatened a cash delivery officer outside the Commonwealth Bank, just after 2.00pm
The offender made off with a cash box.
The police dog squad has been called in to help search for the man.
