Coffs Harbour’s Scott Schlindler hit form in the masters event at the Australian Surf Festival.
The 43 year old held off a strong challenge from local surfer John Schmidenberg in the over 40s heats at Emerald Beach.
Posting a 14.7, Schlindler made the most of the swell and now has his eyes set on the world titles.
“Yeah definitely, I’ve done it before, I’d like to do it again – the surfing’s really good here at the moment, New South Wales Surfing is running a great competition,” Scott said.
The finals in the masters are likely to start on Wednesday.
