PROTESTING ARMIDALE GRANDMOTHER FINED

An Armidale grandmother has been fined $1,800 for blocking Santos’ coal seam gas operations in the Pilliga State Forest earlier this year.

Pat Schultz spent several hours locked onto a truck on April 4 before being removed and arrested by police.

The 63-year-old says it’s a disgraceful amount after Santos was fined just $1500 for contaminating aquifers with uranium.

She says she’ll continue protesting against the mining giant.
