Newcastle Lord Mayor Jeff McCloy has launched a High Court challenge, to give developers the power to donate to political parties.
It follows news the ICAC will examine whether Mr McCloy made donations to the Liberal Party’s 2011 state election campaign for the seat of Newcastle.
Mr McCloy says developers should have the same rights as unions, when it comes to making contributions.
