PUSH CONTINUES TO REDUCE DAYLIGHT SAVING PERIOD
Nationals MPs in Walcha have unanimously voted to continue the push for a reduced daylight saving period.
The group wants the current six month period to be reduced to four months, from November to February.
It follows concern from rural families, who start the day in the dark due to the need to travel long distances to reach town centres.
Farmers are particularly behind the idea, as they can often work past eight o’clock at night.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson will write to Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner to state the group’s case.
