The Newcastle Hunters men’s team has given itself a slim chance of making the Waratah League playoffs, thanks to a thrilling comeback against Hornsby.

Down by as many as 12 points in the final quarter, Cameron Springall kick-started the revival.

Newcastle was trailing by one with a few seconds left, when Lachlan Harben let fly from long range.

Adam Melmeth showed nerves of steel to ice the game from the line, as the Hunters won by four.
