HAMMOND READY TO DEFEND TITLE

Having won the WBA Oceania Welterweight title earlier this month, Moree boxer Cameron Hammond will put it on the line in October.
The 24-year-old will take on Queensland’s Kris George, who boasts six wins from as many fights, five by knockout.
George is currently ranked the fifth best welterweight in the country by the Australian Boxing Federation, with Hammond one place further back.
The bout will take place in George’s home town of Toowomba on October 31.
