LLS CHAIR SUPPORTS IDEA OF ELECTRONIC VOTING
The Local Land Services could soon opt for an electronic voting system to ensure maximum participation when selecting directors.
It follows criticism from farmers who say they’re not impressed about only having one vote per farm.
As a result there was a low level of voter turn-out at the latest election.
“A way of saying we feel ownership, we feel connectivity with what the LLS is doing or it may be that they want to say we want change. In either case it’s actually important that people become engaged whether in a supportive fashion or whether in a constructive change fashion.”
