MAN FACES COURT OVER ALLEGED AXE AND CROSSBOW ATTACK

A 49-year-old man will face Gosford Local Court on murder charges, following an alleged incident with a crossbow and axe on the Central Coast yesterday.

It’s alleged a 56-year-old man left his house in Somersby at about 1.30pm, carrying a laptop, when a younger man allegedly approached him with a loaded crossbow and shot at him.

The arrow hit the man’s laptop, before the younger man allegedly ran at him with an axe and struck him in the head.

The man was later restrained and arrested before being charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding.

He was refused bail to appear in court today.

The older man was taken to hospital where he received stitches to a head wound.
