Police began patrolling the area at 11.30pm on Sunday night after reports a stolen Holden Commodore had crashed into a fence on Adelaide Street.
It’s alleged the driver of the stolen car attempted to turn from Carpenter Street onto Adelaide Street when it collided with the police car.

The boys were taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station but have since been released.
