Two teenagers have been arrested after a dramatic police chase on the Gold Coast.
The incident almost ended in tragedy, after the car smashed into the front of a cafe at an Ashmore industrial complex.
The occupants fled on foot, before a quick-thinking local, Martin Schaeffer, heard someone attempting to jump his fence, and performed a citizen’s arrest.
“We just seen him running up the road, through the neighbours, with the cops not far behind. He was out of puff. He was gone.”
No charges have been laid.
The two arrested teens are assisting police with their inquiries.
